After sharing an animated map on tree cover loss in Cambodia last week, Simeon Max a former colleague from Restor, reached out with a request: Could I illustrate the same for Indonesia?
The red patches, symbolizing tree cover loss, expand with alarming intensity. It's a visual testament to the pressing environmental challenges faced by this richly biodiverse nation.
I built this animation using QGIS, Blender, and ffmpeg.
